CDV Design was founded in 1985 by Kerri and Larry Pitts who have spent more than 30 years in both international advertising agencies and major client companies. With our unique combination of strategic and creative skills, our clients can – and do – use us in many different ways.
We can be used as a separate creative resource to develop communication and advertising ideas, newsletters, corporate IDs or presentations. We can be utilised to develop entire marketing and communication strategies and budgets that flow through to ongoing creative development. In short, you can plug us into your marketing workflow in any way that assists your communication development.
Whether it is a single ad or a complete strategic development, we begin with a full briefing from you then respond with a detailed quote at each stage of development, allowing you to control exactly how much you commit and when. We will arrange competitive production quotes for all final material and we quote a production supervision fee for our involvement. You pay printers and production companies direct – we do not mark-up printers costs. Think of us as an experienced, mini advertising agency without the added costs and overheads.
Larry is a writer-based creative with strong art direction and design skills and a comprehensive IT background, having worked on Macs from their beginning.
Experienced in Adobe CS programmes including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, Larry worked for major advertising agencies such as Lintas and JWT as Creative Director before forming CDV Design with Kerri.
Over the years, Larry has worked on clients such as Myer (winning retail awards in the United States and locally), Qantas, Estee Lauder, The Daily Mirror (winning a FACTS award for TV), Fairfax, Bonds, the New Zealand Government Tourist Bureau, WD & HO Wills, Kellogg, Bushells, NAB, Kodak, Lever & Kitchen, Union Carbide, Lysaght and BHP (winning an AWARD for brochure design).
Larry has also worked for many smaller direct clients, as well as for advertising agencies on a freelance basis, and been responsible not only for writing and art direction, but also directly involved in all areas of television, radio, print and web design - from concept to finished production.
Kerri has been working in marketing and advertising for the last 30 years, helping some of the biggest names in Packaged Goods, Business Services, Finance and Transport as well as smaller businesses in the Agricultural and Retail markets.
Her experience in developing marketing and communication strategies for a wide range of business sectors has given her insights into what works and what doesn’t. Having been part of the development of internet communication she is well aware of the challenges facing businesses today. She always looks for the most cost effective way to communicate with the target market and always considers the objective versus the financial constraints.
Some of her past clients include Kellogg, Dunlop Slazenger, Shroeder Darling, Sun Alliance, Bristol Myers, Mars, Sydney Airport and many more, however, given a choice, she prefers smaller developing companies where she can help to grow a business and the bottom line.
